It's almost Pawty Time!

Hello my Pretties!

Yinz guys may think I'm going to miss Sherman this weekend...especially given his new-found fondness of me. I'll admit, I like sitting next to him without getting grumped at.

But I am very much looking forward to our Big 70s Disco Pawty!!! I'm hoping everypup can come. If they don't, I will spend the entire night looking like this.

We're all SET! The ABBA tribute band is booked, the disco ball is arriving Saturday afternoon, I broke out the lava lamp AND my special bell-bottomed leisure suit!!

I really hope MY Marvin can make it...and MY BFF Tadpole. And MY Pirate Zimmie. And MY Fabulous friend Ruby. And MY Diva gal Asta. And MY Black Furry Friend, Wally (Ha! Take that Shermie!). And all of MY (and Penny's) DWB bestest friends!!

Can you hear me calling for you????

See ya at the Pawty...Saturday Night!

Just take those old records off the shelf...

Sherman thinks he is soooo sneaky. The big stupid head is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He's been carrying around Pink Piggy talking about their big vacation with Mom & Dad this weekend. Apparently he has not grasped the concept of WHISPERING!

Lola & I aren't mad. Grandma is coming to stay with us on Friday night & then we are making BIG PLANS for Saturday when we will be left to our own devices! Think Risky Business...minus the hookers. (Stanley, don't go getting any bright ideas about dancing around in your underwear!) We're having a giant Pawty!!

We're breaking out the lava lamp and hanging the disco ball...it's a 70s Theme Pawty!!! Just to get you in the mood:

There will be a door prize for the best Disco Outfit!!!

We figure, we'll whoop it up here Saturday night, rest on Sunday & then head up to NYC to Pawty with Asta, Cowboy Style.

Stay tuned for more Pawty details later this week!

Shhhhhhhhh...

Happy Monday everypup & hamsterrier!! I have the greatest news...but you all have to promise not to tell the girls!

This weekend Mom & Dad and some of our friends are going to MerryLand!! There is a huge lake there and apparently a very Deep Creek. And we're staying in this huge house!! This is really the actual house!

Mom says were going to go hiking & maybe rent a boat...and I'm might get to try swimming!!

I get to pick one of my housemates to keep me company on the trip....let's see, Lola or Penny? Penny or Lola? How bout.....

Neither!! A HA HA HA HAAAAAA!!! Penny & Lola have to stay home because they are very annoying and will ruin all of my fun.

I've decided to take my favorite stuffie, Pink Piggie. Dot gave me Pink Piggie and it's my best friend in the house. I don't look all that happy in this picture because Mom just told me Piggie is getting a bath before the big trip. I think she smells perfect just the way she is!

"Piggie, would you like to go to MerryLand with me????"

Ahhhhhh, I'm drunk with excitement!! This is what my face will look like the whole way there...only 4 more days!

And remember, the girls don't know yet...so don't tell them!

(Note from Ferndoggle...we're taking this long weekend with 3 other couples, all of which like our dogs, but aren't as crazy about them as we are. Sherman is really well behaved and no trouble at all to have around. And to be honest, I'm looking forward to having some one on one time with my little man.

The girls will be staying at home & Grandma is coming to stay over & spoil them. So no need to worry!!)

I don't think this is funny at all

For some reason, Mom thinks it's very funny when my teeth get stuck on my lip. She took this picture of me and laughed and laughed.

She sings this song to me "She's got jooooowwwwlllly lips...and fuuuuuuuunnny teeth". My teeth are NOT funny. They are unique. So what if I have a huge underbite. So what if my lips get stuck in my teeth. So what if my teef aren't perfect. I'M STILL A DIVA!!!!

And in true Diva fashion...now I will pout.

He's BACK!!

I was just digging new holes and laying in the cool dirt...minding my own business when I heard a strange sound...

Penny heard it too and started looking around the yard...search for the source of the annoying "TchTchTchTchTchTchTCHTCHTCHTCH..."

Then we looked up.

That STOOPID squirrel is BACK. In. MY. Treeeee!!!!!

I thought if I opened my mouth wide enough, he'd fall from his perch and land in my mouth!

Penny tried it too but he just stayed up there...mocking us.

Penny, you take one side, I'll take the other & we can try to stare him down.

As you can see, it didn't work.

He'll be back. It's prime "nut gathering" season. And when he does...we'll be ready.

Happy Barkday to our Daddy!!

Today is our Dad's Barkday. He is 149 years old (that's 31 in people years).

He looks pretty good for someone so ancient!

Tonight he is leaving us at home all alone while he goes & plays fetch with his friends. He's going to eat lots of chicken wingables and drink fizzy brown water. But he takes such good care of us, we'll give him a night out...just this once.

Happy Barkday Dad!!

The City of Sherman...population 10,000

I am totally jealous of my Pittsburgh buddy, Juneau as he has a whole entire CITY named after him!! I got to thinking about it and decided I would make a proposal to Mayor Ravenstahl. Pittsburgh should be renamed...Sherman, PA!!!Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Considering we just had the 10,000th visitor to our blog, think of all the good press I could give our fair city.

So I was doing some research on the Internets & discovered there already IS a City named Sherman...in TEXAS!!

Holy Crap! I could move the whole family to Texas and become the Mayor of Sherman & Dot Spot could be my first lady!!

And I could make all kinds of new laws...the first thing I would make illegal is the Furminator. There would be free meatables for EveryPup! And a Dog Park on every corner. And I would give Penny & Lola to Legacy Boxer Rescue and make them find new places to live!! Or they could just go stay with Cubby.

Look out Sherman, Texas...there's a new Sheriff in town!!!

Steelers Rock!

Sundays in our house are the greatest during Football season. Our team is the Pixburgh Steelers and they are the greatest team in the whole wide world. The first year I lived with Mom & Dad...they won the SUPER BOWL! I'm a good luck charm.

I got in gear & waited for all of Mom & Dad's friends to come over.

This is where we watch the game. It's called the Man Cave because it's really dark & that's where Mom makes Dad go to play his video games or watch hours & hours of football.

But when people come over, Mom & Dad fill it up with FOOD and I walk around & ask people to share their snackables.

We had just started watching a game when my Auntie Kristen showed up...DRESSED. LIKE. THIS!

Now Auntie Kristen is super nice & I like her a lot because she lets me give her kisses all over her face, but she is not in Black & Gold...the Steelers signature colors. And worse, she dressed in brown & orange and wearing a Cleveland Browns bandana!!! Bleh!

I can't believe Mom didn't throw her right out the door!! But she got to stay. Don't worry, I made her suck to me & share her pizza. And...the sweetest revenge. We won! HaHaHa! Take that Auntie Kristen!

It was such an exciting day! I completely wore myself out.

Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go! Let's make it a 6 Pack!

We need to go away more often!

Yes, I'll admit...it was nice to be lazy for a couple of days. It's still really hot here so I spent the past holiday weekend lounging around and catching some rays.

But it's been so fun coming back!! First of all, our little buddy Orion is also back from his blogging hiatus.

And he gave us the most tremendous compliment! He loves our Blog!!

Well Sherman, Lola & I thank you for this huge accolade. I think you're supposed to spread the love but there is NO WAY I could pick only a couple blogs that I love! I love all the DWB blogs! So I'm sending love to
Sparky's Mama. I love her blog because there are lots & lots of pictures of FOOD on it! She is a great cook & makes my Mom feel so guilty because she doesn't cook that much.

And speaking of Sparky...Yep, that's right. I took a picture of Sparky's picture. And how did I get such a nice picture?

It came in this GIANT BOX OF PRESSIES!

Now, I have no idea how Sparky found the time to get this box together. He's been so busy with his new baby brother, Patches. But I am very glad he did! Can you see all the loot we got? Porky Pumpers, a giant box of cookies, Peanut Butter scented tennis balls for Lola, chicken & veggie treats (that are SO delicious!!) and more!
Sparky is so cool he even has his own cookie!

Sherman (of course) got the tear apart ball...which he promptly hoarded in the corner. Lola & I stole it later & tore it all apart though! Never fear Sparky, it still has all of it's guts.

Lola hasn't gotten to the tennis balls yet...she's been too busy with the cookies!

And I decided I'd take this chewie bone & keep it all to myself.

Thank You So Much Sparky for all of our presents!! You are the bestest!

Presents for ME!

Hey Guys...I'm back! Miss me??? I know I've been gone for a few days, but I have great news!
Over the weekend...I found THIS on my front porch! It's from that handsome devil, Huskee Boy! Now I know it says Sherman, Penny & Lola on the box.

But when I found THIS inside...I knew it was ALL for me!

So I said Ahahahahahah Penny & Lola...No Presents For You! And that made them sad.

I'll just be over here playing with my new Handsomest Boy stuffie.

But here is the bad news....Mom said Huskee sent Lola some tennis balls & a stuffie for Penny too. So I had to share.

I also got THREE special barkday card...two from Huskee & one from Girl Girl!! Mom tried to take a picture but they didn't turn out. And I also got a squeeky bone & ball that I will NOT share.

Thank you, Huskee for all of MY (our) presents! You're a swell guy!

We're still here!!

Hi Pups & GG! I just wanted to let you all know that we're still here. Mom has been kinda busy (and a little lazy) and we have tons of pictures to download off the camera. I promise to make her do it soon.

In the meantime, here is an old puppy picture of me. Go ahead...you can say it.

Awwwwwwww.

Mom also promises we can visit your blogs soon too. Don't forget about us!

The Great Dehydrator Experiment

I finally put my dehydrator to work this past weekend. I got all of the supplies ready. Non-stick spray, garlic powder & papertowels (to dry the meatables before going on the grates).

I used organic beef liver...Mmmmmm, looks yummy, huh?

Chicken hearts, gizzards, chicken pieces & a salmon fillet.

The smell wasn't too bad while it was cooking. I let the machine work for 12 hours and ended up with a bunch of shrivelled up meat.

My mistake was putting it in the fridge in zip-close bags. It got really sticky & hard to work with.

So then next day I spread it out on papertowels and let it air dry for another 8 hours.

Dried gizzardables & chickenables..

Dried Liverables...

It still was really sticky and hard to work with. I pitched the Salmon because while it was dry on the outside, it was moist and flaky when I went to cut it. I should've eaten it.

We don't care! Give us those dried up Meatables!!!!

Really, the Dogs loved all of the meat. Even picky Penny. So at least I have goodies for them for a while.

The conclusion...next time, I will let the meat dry longer (probably 18 hours). And I will let it air dry before putting it in the fridge.

I didn't think it smelled too bad while it was cooking...but the lingering effects (BAD) are still in my kitchen 4 days later. I will also put the machine outside next time.

I'm going to try & dry stuff for ME next...apples, bananas, apricots, tomatoes, etc and see how they turn out. I kind of prefer my old method of making dried treats for the Dogs (email me if you'd like the details). The smell isn't as bad & it only takes about an hour & a half.

It was worth a shot!
