The First Fire

I must admit, I'm not a big fan of the colder weather. I'm kinda skinny with short furs and prefer the temperature be in the 60s or above. However, I do love the cold for one special reason...

It's time to build a fire!!

As soon as I hear the crackle of flames, I park my butt right in front of the fireplace and warm myself.

Mom & Dad don't know how I stand it because it gets REALLY hot! But I love it.

And I've taught Lola to love it too. I thought she like to hang out there because she does whatever I do...

But I caught her in my spot all alone, so I guess it's a Boxer thing.

Hope you guys all stayed warm this weekend!

So do I. (wish I could lay in front of the fire with you Penny)

In fact it was so warm last winter that master and mistress didn't light a fire. Even though they both love them very much.

So not many fires here guys.

Ooh! A fire! I am going to test out my fireplace soon... After mom and dad get some kind of "cover" for it... they think I will try to run into the fire or something. I'm not that silly!! But I guess I have to wait anyway...

As Pink Floyd says, "It's good to warm your bones beside the fire".

By the way, reason no. 1 that I moved from PA to SC - It's 78 degrees here today and gonna be 80 degrees tomorrow :-) Happy Turkey Day !!!!

Hey Penny, That looks really cosy. I get a bit toasty by the fire, but I have way more fur than you do. I wish I could give you all my left-over furs for a winter coat. Mom says it doesn't work that way.

Check the sidebar on my blog. There's something there for you guys.

xoxoxo (one set for each of you)

We don't have a huge need for fireplaces in Tucson, but it can get cold and rarely, snowy. Mama thinks fireplaces and books go a long way (though she likes to READ them, I prefer to EAT them). You have, by the way, been tagged. Check out my mama's page for the topic (www.omchodoy.blogspot.com)

You look so cute in front of the fire!

How lucky are you? You guys have a fireplace. We don't have one, but I've heard great things. When I'm at my grandparents house, I like to hang out in front of their potbellied cook stove. That's as close to a fireplace I can get. I'm glad to see you are staying warm and cozy.

Your pal,
Kirby

we have a gas fireplace that is more for looks than heat, so when it gets cold Tanner curls up in front of the silly space heater.

you gals sure look nice in front of that fire!

Penny!

You look so invitingly cozy in front of that fire. We only have the DVD fire on the TV. Once it plays to the end, it's over unless I have the remote.

Stay warm & give snuggles to Lola & Sherman!

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

We had our first fire too, guys! Mom had to move one of our family room beds because it sits on the fireplace hearth but that's okay! It was well worth the temporary move!

Love ya lots,

Our girl gets cold and likes to sleep close to the fire too, but we don't think it is cold enough here for one. Of course, we have lots and lots of fur, too.

I would like to sit in front of the fire but my ma ape is drooling thinking about it! Do you think she's part boxer? I wonder.

Sherm, are you a blanket fellow like me? Or I often steal some heat off my ma ape. Her lap warms me right up.

We love fire too - when we went camping, my mama kept yelling at us to get away from the fire! We were like moths to a flame.

I love laying in front of the fireplace, too! Our fireplace is a little different though. It's raised a little off the floor, but it's still really warm to lay by it. My cat brother and I love when Dad goes outside to get firewood. Sasha doesn't like the popping noises so she hides until she gets cold and then she curls up on the couch with Mom so she can feel the warmth of the fire and Mom is there to protect her.
