The Nose

Poor Penny. During stressful situations, she rubs her snout along the ground...shredding all of the fur & some of the skin off her nose. It hasn't happened in a while but last Saturday, I had her at class with me and she was crated for a lot of the time. She hasn't really been crated in 2+ years. She wasn't pleased.

This is the result:

(note one of Penny's favorite toys from Grandma Kay...her bucky beaver. She likes to snuggle with it.)

It looks like a dried up tick.

Meanwhile, she & Sherman haven't totally made up from their fight this week. We've been having a lot of avoidance between the two of them.

But today we went on an hour long walk and they got in some serious bonding time.

"Hey guys...can't we just all get along????"

Poor Penny, if I was there I'd give you a big wet Frenchie Kiss on your nose.

Oh, I did that to my nose a lot too, when I was getting used to my crate. My girl felt so sorry for me.... She still put me in there, though. Mean woman.

Poor Penny :(

Our cousin Kita does that too, it seems like it barely heals before she does it again. Hope your Mom gives you lots of kisses.

Poor Penny indeed...before I met my real family the rescue place put me in a cage that I didn't like very much and I did the same thing. They called Sara and said you have to take this dog (me) into your home for a while because we can't keep him here or he's going to hurt himself. So she did, and I won over Ryan and Sara in about twelve seconds.

I don't mind going into my crate now because it usually means I get to help make (eat) dinner.
