Something VERY fishy is going on...

Look what I found in Mom's room!!! Usually when this big box comes out, it means someone is leaving us...

I overheard Mom talking to Dad & my ears perked up when I heard two of the most beautiful words on earth.

Dot. Spot.

Dot-Spot??? You're going to see Dot-Spot???? Oh no...not without me. I'm coming with you.

Then Mom told me she is not going to go see Dot-Spot, but she is going on a trip. We have to wait till later this weekend so she can sit us pups down & tell us all of the details.

I don't like this one little bit.

The final Yoi...

Goodbye Myron...we'll miss you.

(photo taken from The Pittsburgh Channel).

Steelers fans all over the country are mourning the loss of Pittsburgh broadcasting legend, "Cope". Tomorrow has been declared "Terrible Towel Day" by the Mayor of Pittsburgh. That's very fitting because I feel pretty terrible.

Double Yoi...

Brrrrrrr.

Hey Puppers!

We've been having some pretty yucky weather lately...snow then rain then snow then rain then snow then rain then rain and rain and rain and more stupid RAIN!

But tonight when Mom came home from work, we all went outside to this! 25 degrees??? That is NOT Joeypalooza weather at all!!

But it is kind fun. All we've had here is slush...and that does not make running around much fun at all.

But tonight we had some huge flakes...I knew that was the start of something fun!

Sherman spent part of the evening trying to catch snowflakes on his nose...um, needless to say he's not real coordinated.

After 5 minutes outside, we had a good laugh at the chubby, black, abomidable snowman!
Lola & I played for a little while in the snow

& then I just stood around looking beautiful.

Peanut, Tucker, Pippa, Kaiser...any of you boyz wanna come wrassle in the snow with me???

Pee Ess....Lola got some great presents in the mail from Princess Snowball and she promises to post about them soon!!

It's Friday!

First of all, I wanted to let you know that the white dog is back to her old annoying self. Her blood work came back normal so there was nothing really wrong with her except that she had bugs in her belly. She has to eat this special bland diet (I don't know what's so bland about hamburger & rice) for a couple days and take some pills. Pawsonally, I liked it better when she was sick...this is pretty much all she did for 4 days (of course she has to lay with Penny).

Now she gets to eat FOUR times a day and Mom is actually HAPPY about the fact that she's running around like a maniac and barking in my face. How annoying.

I would like to point out that I was very nice to Penny during Lola's sickness. I didn't complain at all when she smooshed her bony butt up against me.

See Mom??? I believe I have earned at least 10 extra chickenbackables for NOT growling at her & chasing her off the couch.

Speaking of chicken backs...HAPPY BURPDAY WALLY!!

I've got the chickenbackables and beef heartables thawing in the fridge for my Wally Burpday Celebration tonight!

In the meantime...this roach is for YOU, Wally!!

Have a great day, dude!

Sick, Sick, Sick

It's been pretty crappy this last week. First Mom's car got sick, then I got sick, then BLOGGER got sick. Mom's been trying to make this post for 2 days, but it wouldn't let her upload any pictures.

She was going to post anyway, but I wanted everypup to see how icky I feel.

Pretty super icky...

(She'll tell you all about it at the bottom of this post).

Anyway...do you guys remember the secret present my BFF Tadpole sent to me last year? I really wanted to wear it this winter, but it still didn't fit.

One of Mom's work friends got a new puppy last month and I said she could have my special Tadpole sweater. It fit her perfectly!!

Her name is Aggie & she's a Figgle-dog so I knew Tad wouldn't mind if I shared my present.

I'm trying to get her Mom to start her very own blog, but haven't quite convinced her yet.

(OK...the deal with Lola. She started getting sick on Monday night. She really hadn't been herself since Saturday though. She was really mopey & not all that interested in food...which is really strange for her. Monday night she started throwing up off and on all night. Tuesday she still wouldn't eat and was very lethargic and obviously uncomfortable. The diarrhea started then too. I took her to the Vet today and her vitals are normal, but she was very dehydrated. They did Sub-Q fluids under her skin & almost all of it was absorbed. They also took blood to test kidney & liver function & check for signs of Pancreatitis, but won't have the results until tomorrow. She has to fast for 24 hours and then I start antibiotics. I'm hoping this is just a bacterial issue and nothing else. Good thoughts for the Diva would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry we haven't been around much to visit. It was a busy weekend followed by an equally busy week. We'll be making our rounds soon though. Promise!!

Happy V-Day!

I hope everypup, and kitty and hammie had a great Valentine's Day! We've gotten a bunch of cards through Kaiser's Valentine's exchange and we'll post about them later. Mom's car got sick this week and wouldn't start for 3 whole days! It went to the V.E.T. and now it's all better. And we can FINALLY send out our cards. Never fear, your cards are on the way...consider it Valentine's WEEK!

Earlier this week I received a big Box addressed just to ME! It was from that super handsome husky boy, Sky Kapp. I won the "guess where my people went" contest on his blog...and he just happens to think I'm pretty cute.

He sent me a HUGE bag of cookies his Mom & little biped made especially for ME (and Sherman and Penny). I also got a PINK Princess Minnie Mouse head.

And a bag of his super pawesome husky fur!! Notice "Mr. Husky Wanna-be" poking his head in to see what a REAL husky smells like.

I love that husky fur...and No, I didn't eat it....

The cookies were SO delicious. They were in all shapes, but I liked the hearts the best

YUM!!!

I walked around & played with my PINK Minnie head...

But it's way more fun to play with my bestest friend & big sister Penny. So we tugged & tugged & tugged!

I always share with her...well, most always.

PINK Minnie head is STILL intact! That's a lot for this house.

Sky-boy sent me something else this week...SNOW!!! Just look at our yard! It's covered in the white stuff. I should make a little comment about that ugly fence thingy in our backyard. I, um...jumped over the wall like 5 times last week and couldn't get back in the yard. Dad put this thing up to keep me "safe"...I was safe. I was just trying to go & look for Sky!

See...I'm lookin'!

I tried, Sky. I couldn't find you.

But thanks for the presents & the SNOW!

Happy 500th!!!

The Dogs of Jackman Avenue are making our 500th post!

You'll probably notice our layout is a little different. A present to ourselves courtesy of Artistree Blog Designs. Rebecca is absolutely wonderful to work with and 100% of the proceeds go to a very wonderful cause...bringing their baby home from China. We think she did a wonderful job! Thank you, Rebecca, from the bottom of our little hearts.

This blog has been one of the true joys of our lives. We can't express how grateful we are for all of the friendships we've made and will continue to make through DWBs. We have, by far & away the best community in all of Cyberspace. Thank you to all who take the time to read &/or comment on our daily escapades. It means more to us than you will ever know.

He's not just a handsome devil...

So over the weekend we got this little envelope in the mail.

Mom said it was from that one big handsome devil, Mr. Bogart! He IS pretty darn handsome.

Apparently, in addition to being handsome, he is also a fantastic maker of treats. And as I am the Queen Taste Tester of Treats, he wanted to know what I think.

You see, Sherman and Lola will eat just about anything (not a big surprise with Sherman). But I am quite particular about what I eat, so I'm an excellent judge of deliciousness. He sent us chicken breast & beef heart...I like the sound of that already.

(sorry it's a little dark). If you can't tell, we give these treats 4 Paws Up! Thank you for our goodies Bogart.

And as usual, we're behind on our tags. We've been tagged by
Kathryn & Ari, Little Maeby, and Big Boy Mango to list seven previously unknown things about us. Since this is my post, here are 7 things you (probably) didn't know about Penny:

1. My feet smell like Fritos. Dad calls me Frito feet.

2. I hate reading. Actually I hate when the humans read. I step all over their books and papers and snort in their face so they'll stop & pay attention to me.

3. I love to lay in the sun. Even when it's 90 degrees out.

4. When I'm happy to see you, I snort & show you all of my teeth. Mom has been trying to get this on video but can't. Maybe one day.

5. My muzzle started turning white when I was 2

.
6. I have my own couch. I sometimes share it with Lola...if she's being annoying & insists on snuggling with me.

7. Last week on our walk...I peed on Sherman's head! Bahahahahahahahahaaaaaa!

As we're so late, you've all probably been tagged for this game. If not, tag yourself!

TGIF....or not

Hey Puppers! I'm so glad it's Friday! The weekends are the bestest because Mom & Dad are free from earning Chewie money and get to spend lots of time with us.

I was particularly excited tonight because I got to start out my weekend with a super special walkie...just me & Mom. Out on the town alone! Yahooooie!!

I still have to sit at every intersection, but who cares! Let's go Mom!

I've got Pee-mail to spread over the whole neighborhood!

We walked about 10 minutes then ended up at this place...the NICE people live here !

I love going to my V.E.T. ! They're super nice there. They call me a sweet old man...I prefer mature, but whatever gets me treats is fine with me. Mom was a little worried about some of the "big-boned" tumors I have. I've heard the humans call them Fatty but the F word is not allowed in my presence.

So I had a stoopid stick shoved up my butt (my temp is normal) and I had to get on the scale. Mom almost fell over when it read 58.8 lbs but that was b/c I was squirming a bit (OK...a LOT). When she made me sit, it registered at a svelte 54.4 lbs...a whole .4 lbs than my last weigh in. I rock! I've figured out how to diet AND eat chicken backs till my heart's content. In fact, I should have MORE chicken backs to get me back to my normal weight.

I have 4 Big Boned tumors. The special lady doctor said I'm handsome (and I AM) & checked me over real good. She felt around all of my rippling muscles and gave me a massage. But then, she took out a needle and made Mom snuggle on my head. The needle was like 24 inches long and she stuck it in my Biggest Boned tumor...and I screamed. Mom said I sounded like a little girl but whatever...it hurt.(And Dot...I was very TUFF, I assure you...Mom lies.) Special Lady Doctor confirmed that it was just a BB tumor and I don't have to worry about it any more.

I do have a little bitty NON big boned tumor that the special lady wants to remove & send to the CIA for proof of my Pawesomeness but they have to do a bunch of blood work first to ensure my liver and kidneys and heart are A-OK...which I'm sure they SUPER STRONG. That'll be in a couple of weeks.

So, I'll have to get that funny laughie juice and will sleep for a while and get lots of snuggles and special treatment afterward. That doesn't sound so bad.

Oh and I have to have a toof cleaned up then too. Feel the love, my man Joe Stains.

An award & T-shirts

What a way to get out of the mid week slump! We were given this award by our husky buddy, Echo.

This award is given to bloggers who have wonderful outstanding styles and a fantastic ability to keep us thinking, amused and entertained. We now need to send this to ten writers of outstanding style and ability.

What an honor Echo! Thank you so much. We're gonna pass it on to Bella, our new little Boxer buddy, Maeby, Kaiser, Cubby, Peanut & Flash, Dory, Girasol and Jazz & Dixie.

We mentioned a week so so ago that Mom was gonna turn our Cubby Art into t-shirts & would you believe it??? She did!

Here's the front:

And the back:
Oh & it comes in black b/c Dad only likes Black t-shirts:
We have our VERY OWN STORE too! AND they'll be selling our shirts in the DWBs store too. Either way, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

Happy Humpday Everypup!

What a weekend!!

We have had the most amazing weekend!! That Joe Stains is quite the host. He let us, Wally, Ozzie & Rocky sleep off our jet lag in his pawrents bed!

The next day, Lola went to the spa with her BFF Tadpole and the WFT crew

And then the Girls spent last night dancing with their favorite fellows...Awwww, they're so cute, I could almost throw up my chicken backs.

Speaking of which...my job on this trip was to bring some good Pittsburgh food (and some chicken backs) to AZ. Joe Stains' Mom is from da 'burgh & I knew she'd appreciate a little taste of home.

Potato & cheese Pierogies...a staple in every 'burgh household.

Iron City Beer...the one & only

A big fat Primanti Bros. sandwich...heaven on earth

Kielbasa...the turkey variety for those of us who have to watch our waistline, and the regular piggie version for everypup else. Good thing the Turkey Kielbasa tastes BETTER than the pork kind. Makes it fun to be on a diet!

We can NOT have a Super Bowl Pawty without wings.

And the feast I've saved for Wally and, of course, my gal Dot Spot...CHICKEN BACKS!!!!

We got a new shipment in right before I left..I made sure to give the batch a big ole taste test before bringing them to AZ. Yep, they're pretty darn delicious!

Lola agrees...

And even picky Princess Penny says "Yep, pretty darn tasty!"

Here's the thing. Our team isn't playing in the Super Bowl so we have no team to root for. Sure we could root AGAINST a certain team, but that's kinda mean. So we decided that we should just represent anyway & PRETEND our Super Steelers were in the game. Winning, of course.

So we're watching the game in our gear.

And I've arranged for a special someone to stop by the house of Stains and say hello to everyone's favorite "Mean" little Boston.

Mean Joe Stains...

get ready to meet Mean Joe Greene...he should be at Casa Stains by halftime!!

In the meantime...Lola has gone off & become a cheerleader. Go figure. She has not loyalty.
