The Dogs are sleeping...

So I'm taking over their blog!

I want to thank all of our amazing DWBs friends for all of the well wishes for Scott's Dad. He's still in the ICU, but is slowing getting better. I just keep thinking positively. He WILL be home for Xmas.

Speaking of Xmas...I must have a been a very good girl this year because I got my first present in the mail this week. Seadra & Zoe's Mom sent us this fantastic wreath decorated with 3 dogs. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it is Sherman, Penny & Lola!! The little white dog even has a Lola eyepatch!

I hung it on our DWBs Holiday Card display door. It's a perfect centerpiece! We've received 5 cards so far...Comet & Blu, Lenny, Cairo, Randi & The Dogs. This is so much fun!

And about those cards...~hanging head in shame~...I'm a little late. I tried to take a couple pictures this week, but I didn't really like them.

We're gonna get the official shot this weekend & I'll mail all of them next week. I've been kinda freaking out & feeling like a slacker...but then I realized, it's not even December yet! Deep breaths...

Clover's Mom, Jess hit me with this cool tag..."Devise a list of 5-10 courses you would take to fix your life. It’s more fun to be in classes with friends, so include one class from the person who tagged you that you’d also like to take".

Well, I think I have a pretty great life, but there are many classes I'd like to take to enrich my life.

Yoga/Pilates - Jess wrote "I am horribly inflexible and uncoordinated, so I am too shy to try a class out, but I keep hearing raves about how good they are for your mind and body. My mind and body could use the boost." Oh man, if you only knew! I'm about the most uncoordinated person on earth. My first day of work I tripped down a flight of stairs in front of my boss & 3 of my new co-workers. I fell down walking across the street and broke my wrist in 4 places. I rolled off an exercise ball during an aerobics class and landed in the middle of the room. And my mind is a whole other story. Yoga would be perfect for me. If only I weren't so lazy.

The Art of Patience - Major character flaw. Traffic jams make me mental. Long lines make me want to chew my arm off. I hate waiting for the water to boil. Or waiting on hold. Or when our internet connection is slow.

Sewing 101 - I have a sewing machine, but have only made a few pillows & curtains with it. Move the fabric in a straight line...not to hard. But I would love to make coats & stuff for the dogs (like Lorenza's super talented Grandma). I get flubbed up on the patterns & stuff. I made a skirt once in 8th grade Home Ec. I forgot to measure for the hems when I cut the fabric. Fergie would have thought it was too short. I have a tendency to do that kinda stuff.

How to NOT spill stuff on yourself - especially coffee...on a new white shirt...at 7:30 in the morning. I should only be allowed to own black clothes.

Knitting - I have the needles & thread. And the little "How To" book. And I LOVE scarves. But it all goes back to that coordination thing. It would take me two years to make one scarf! And I'm constantly jabbing myself with the needles.

Photoshop - I have the software. But I get so freakin' frustrated I want to throw my computer out the window (see Art of Patience above)! I just need someone to show me how and then I, too, can make fun stuff like Ruby & Asta & Pappy's people.

Voice/Music Lessons - I love music and love to sing. And alone in my car...I'm a total rock star. But the reality is that I'm tone deaf. So I rarely do it in public. I'll take a good vocalist over a great guitar player anyday. I would also love to learn how play an instrument. Probably the drums. But back to coordination...how the hell do people move their arms & feet at the same time??? I'd end up hitting myself in the head with a drumstick while simulatinously kicking myself in the shin. Air guitar is much safer for me.

Yes, you can have Willpower! (or How to stop at 2 slices of pizza) - This needs no explaination.

I could go on & on here...but I'll stop. I'm gonna tag Karen, Jessica & Liza. Play along if you'd like!

The Dogs will be back tomorrow. Promise.

The wreath looks great on the door. It will look even better with all the Christmas cards around it.

You're not late with the cards. Relax, it's still plenty early enough.

I like that tag. Something to think about.

Have a great weekend.
Love, Seadra Zoe and Jessica

Hi Jen,
Thanks for playing! It was fun to read your answers. I TOTALLY hear you on the drum thing. I have no clue how they do it.
And what a beautiful wreath from Seadra and Zoe's mom! I love it!

Jen, I am so happy to hear that Scott's dad is improving. It must be a huge relief for everyone, especially his dad!

I haven't started my cards yet either, but they are already pouring in. Time to get busy! Sophie is brushing up on her posing skills. Hopefully tonight, we will get the money shot!

Mom used to be the most uncoordinated person on the planet. Then she started doing Kenpo karate. you should see her now. heh heh heh. Mom does knit, but unfortunately, she knits like fish swim, totally natural and easily. Sorry.
Mom says she will always have pugs because they are small and can fit in your lap. Unlike big dogs. Sorry, Lola.

that wreath is so so super cool! Mom has been stuffing envelopes like a mad woman for the card exchange, she is so darn lazy, I think she is only half done. She better finish this weekend!

We are really happy to hear about Scott's dad. we are still crossing paws and sending lots of good thoughts for him!

Jen!

Thanks for a look into your wishlist. I know you keep saying you're not coordinated (and boy, could my girl tell you some stories), but to juggle Sherman, Lola & Penny along with a husband & a job sounds pretty coordinated to me. (Not quite what you're talkin' bout I know).

The wreath is incredible! Seadra & Zoe's mama is talented.

Be sure to take care of yourself, and don't even beging to fret about the cards. Mine aren't going out until next weekend!

Goober love,
Stanley

The wreath is just gorgeous! Thank you for telling us where to put all of our cards! Now to keep Mitch from pulling them off the door!
Know what, Jen? You're a very normal lady! Mom laughed at pretty much all of your answers! Thank you for that!

Love ya lots,
Maggie

Hi Jen!

All the pups are sleeping! WOW!~

I love the wreath! So cute!

My mom has lots of the same courses she would take that you have listed..she knows how to sew & knit...but could really use some lessons...& yoga...she doesn't really get it..but it sounds cool...

I think she needs to learn how to feed me more...that's a very important class...

Love & Licks,
Randi

Loved the holiday card door...we're steelin' the idea! Mumsie said she's seen some of those very classes at CCAC...like how not to procrastinate. Mumsie recently checked a book outta the library on it, but had to pay a late fee cuz she kept puttin' off returning it. Hmm...

Kisses to ur grandpa...we're thinking of him!!! Those bad buggies can be nasty things. Give ur rents some pix of you to hang in the ICU.

Mumsie and Big Bruvver smuggled their old WFT,Sarge into Presby Hosp the night before Grandpa's heart surgery. They wrapped him in a Pens blanket. He loved it...Daddy almost had a stroke and he wasn't even there..(he's on staff there...and probably figured he'd be fired...)

You guys wanna go to the Steeler game tomorrow nite?? Let us know!

Very cool wreath. We're totally impressed. :->

We're working on our cards, but they're not out yet. Momma helped us with the addressing last night cuz we can't hold a pen in our paw. (That whole opposable thumb issue.) And, truth be known, if we give Peaches the pen, she will eat it. So she's NO help at all!

The wreath is so pretty! What a nice gift. Your list of classes cracked me up, I'd have a lot of the same.

I thought having an extra week between Thanksgiving and Christmas would make me ahead of the game, but it's just given me more time to procrastinate.

oh we are feeling so bad this year, cos we ain't participating for various reasons......but we want to say Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas and all the lovely mid winter greetings.

I am taking over Marvin's blog with this comment toooooo!

Just wanted to say, Jen, thank you for your friendship, your lovely blog posts, and the warmth and fun we get from reading your lovely Blog about your Dogs.

Your love for them shines out totally, and Marvin, is totally and utterly in love with dear sweet Lola! (and I am a real Lola fan! She is just the best!)

I get times when I think about giving up the blogging (as you know especially after dear sweet Oscar died) but your post this year about this moved me so much, I decided to keep on!

Sometimes I waver, but your post way back then, reverberates in my memory, and somehow, we manage to pull another "blog post" out of the box!

Thanks so much for everything this year and also so pleased to hear Scott's Dad is getting better.

I have lost both my parents in the past ten years, so please make the most of every time you have with them.......life is too short. But the best times you have with them you will remember for ever.

love and much light from Bonnie and blinking freezing Scotland, ......the snow is on the hills across from our house.

Hi
The picture would not show but we will visit again!
I am horribly unco-ordinated too and live in mortal fear of doing group stuff. There is in online gym called Demand Fitness and you can get a one day pass for .99 cents and you can try Pilates in the privacy of your home.Or You tube has exercises on line that you can try.
