Stuffie Removal...step by step

My gal pal Luckie Girl is a very skilled surgeon. She's performed countless opawrations on many stuffies and her recent work on Mr. Cow is a shining example of her talent. In addition to being a Diva, I too, am a stuffie surgeon. My primary skill is squeaker transplants. Extracted squeakers can be donated to many deserving stuffies that have a broken squeaker...or were born without a squeaker.

I start by inspecting my stuffie to determine the primary spot for extraction.

In this patient, Greenie Hedgehog, that would be his belly. I use my scalpel (aka, my teefers) to make a small incision along the abdominal cavity.

I then begin removing Greenie Hedgehog's guts, being very careful not to damage the squeaker.

Once extracted, I massage the squeaker with my lips to ensure it is in good working order.

It was touch and go for a moment...Greenie Hedgehog's squeaker momentarily stopped squeaking!

But I performed SSR (Stuffie Squeaker Resuscitation) on it and it sprung back to life! Whew! That was a close one.

I know all of you DWBers out there have it in you to be skilled surgeons like Luckie & I. It just takes a lot of determination and practice, practice, practice. Your humans will have to provide you with many specimens to brush up on your skills. It ain't cheap putting us doggins through school (and they thought they were getting off easy!)

Now get to work!

Wow...

You ARE a very skilled surgeon. I just like to remove overstuffed stuffies. I'd guess, that makes me a stuffie-suction surgeon? (^ ^)

Lola!

You are AMAZING! I'm sending all my de-squeaked stuffies to you for transplants. Do you work for bull pizzle?

I love that next to the last photo of you performing SSR. Whoa! Looks like a stressful job. Go GIRL!

Goober love,
Stanley

Hi, Lola
You did a great job with that stuffie! Thanks for telling us about it step by step. Sure we can learn from you!
Any hope for the de-squeakied toy?
Have a good night

Lola,

I love to extract squeekers as well. Nothing better then pulling those things out. Mom says she is getting tired of sewing all my toys shut again, but I can't help it. It's an addiction, right?

Your pal,
Kirby

Good Job Dr Lola!! :)I don't usually like to bother with those squeakers once I remove them. I prefer to RIP the skin (covering). hehe...
Thanks for sharing your opawration tips. I'm going to record this in my medical journal.

Hi Lola
I'm a very good surgeon but my mum loves our toys more than us, I think, and she gets upset when we rip them apart, especially cute little frogs like yours.

Did you go to stuffie medical school to learn you trade? If you did, you must have graduated at the top of your class!! We're thinking that you didn't go to school and you are just a natural!! We read the story about Charlie. Truly a very sad, heart-breaking story. Hopefully the human responsible will face the music for what he has done. Belly Rubs, Tasha & Eva.

Hi Lola
Nice technique - very delicate. I usually go for the chomp method to remove the squeaky and always end up silencing the squeaky. Your method is much more successful. Nice job!

SSR...wow...we wouldn't have thought of that. Scruffy really stinks at stuffie destruction...and actually, (tho i am loathe to admit it) I am no better. we will be sending our stuffies to u for destuffing.

Whoa! Great job! Kana, my brother in law's pup, ate a squeaker once and had to have surgery (but he came out of the surgery okay and is now okay- THANK GOODNESS). We are glad you just inspected the squeaker and didn't eat it like he did! Now, because of that incident, my parents don't let me have squeaky toys unless I am supervised. I like to do what you do though....surgery! Who says you need a degree for that. :P

Nicely done Lola. Once you have carefully removed the squeaker, then the fluff, do you carry around the "carcass"?? That is my schedule that I follow everytime!
Hugs.

HELLO, my BFF Lola Sprout Beyonce! It's been WAY too long since we've "chatted"! Looks like you're keeping youself busy in very constructive ways, though. Great job on the surgical proceedures! I do that too, but it takes me a LONG time to get the stuffing extracted. You big hanging jowles must help make you more efficient....

What a detailed online course to train new surgeons. I think you are qualified to hold lectures for more doggies and earn some treats and toys money for yourself.
