Welcome 2008!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

2007 was pretty darn great!! We met so many new pups (and their people) and made so many great friends. But we're guessing 2008 is gonna be pretty great too!!

I've made some New Years Resolutions:

1. Take Mom for more walks...we're both on a weight loss plan this year.
2. Donate some of my stuffies to the animal shelter.
3. Be nicer to Penny & Lola...Mom promised I will get one extra chicken back per week if I can try not to be so grouchy.
4. Become more organized. This is big one for both Mom & I.

We have a very weird house with TWO kitchens. Mom has been using our upstairs kitchen as "storage unit" (i.e. if she doesn't know what to do with something, it goes in the kitchen). And let me tell you...it was pretty darn nasty. Even for me. And I'm a dog. So I convinced Mom that she should clean it out and make it a DOG KITCHEN!!!
So she said "OK...good idea Sherm" and spent 4 hours today cleaning it out for us. Here it is!!!

There are no "Before" pics b/c Mom said it was REALLY yucky and she'd be too embarrassed to showYes, I'm sitting on a pink flowery rug. I've heard pink is the new black. I refuse to let Mom dye me pink...so this is a nice compromise.

Here are the name plates from Huskee! Notice who is on the top...yep, ME!

The oven doesn't work but thats OK. Mom can still do all of her cookie making in her kitchen. There is plenty of counter space for food prep.

She now has an organized place for all her Bark Magazines & Whole Dog Journals. And she can leave out our food killing machine. Mom & Dad bought their own food killer b/c she says killing liver has made their first one yucky. Yucky for whom??

We have a nice organized space now for our our canned meatables, tripeables and fishables.

We have our own fridge for storing our yogurt, eggies and cottage cheese, as well as thawing meatables.

Mom keeps the meatables in a big plastic bin so the juice doesn't get all over the fridge. I have always offered to clean up any mess by hand (or in my case, tongue) but she's says "No Shermie, that's OK. Thanks though".

Here are our thawing chicken backables, gizzardables, turkey neckables and a big fat beef heart. MMMMMMmmmmmmm!

I have agreed to let Mom & Dad store their brown fuzzy water in MY fridge on one condition...they've gotta keep my brew in there too.

So that's our new & improved Dog Kitchen! I'm pretty psyched about it and Mom is happy because it's not a giant eye sore anymore. And if Mom is happy...Sherman's happy.

We wish all of our doggie, hamster, kitty and hooman friends a Super Duper 2008 filled with happiness, good health and all the bully sticks you can eat!!!

Keeping up with my resolution to be nicer to my sisters, I'll post this picture of Lola for you guys. Mom says she looks cute in it. Whatever...I'd like my extra chicken back now please.

Next week I'll be nice to Penny.

wowee a doggie kitchen, I am super jealous! you could put some bowls in there and open your own canine cafe. hm, but then you'd have to share the food, so skip that. Good luck on being nicer to your sisters, you might need it!

oh we always knew American kitchens were much bigger than here in the UK, but we did not know it was THE LAW in America to have a Dog Kitchen tooooo!

How totally and utterly amazing Sherman!

oh and thank you so much for the picture of Lola at the end of the post, I am copying it and pinning it up on "our only fridge in our only kitchen!"....... ;0)

We emailed you a Christmas e-card but our record says you have not viewed it yet, perhaps we sent it to the wrong darn place.

Methinks Jeannie been drinking too much brown fizzy stuff or even red winey stuff these past few days!

love and laughing licks, and all good wishes for the Bestest New Year! Ever!

Shermie, I think your resolution means you have to be nicer to both of them all the time - not one at a time! :)

yay for your doggie kitchen, i showed mommie and now she wants one..but she got a food killer for christmas so maybe that's a start!

happy new year,

Man, Sherman!

I have my own country, but don't have my own kitchen. Think I'd rather have the kitchen.

Your fridge looks very much like ours... meatable thawing out to be eaten, eggs, cottage cheese & yogurt! Your cupboards are better organized than ours, though.

Your mama is so good to you guys. Give her a big goober smooch for me. Get your extra chicken back yet?

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

Lola is cute in every photo I've ever seen of her!

Happy, new year
It prays for a happy Hageme ball for one year, health, and happiness.

It starts from the dish at a wonderful New Year.
Of course, the special New Year's food of Japan is delicious.
However, what kind of dish is made in the kitchen of Sherman?
Very, it looks forward.
Love is put from a cool kitchen. :)

Wow, your own kitchen! Your mom is awesome. Lola, can I come visit????? I promise I'll behave!

WOW! We're so impressed with your kitchen! I think you're the luckiest dogs on the planet to have your own PLUS a personal chef. You even have your own appliances. I wonder how much a bus ticket to there costs.

PS Tell your Mom that she's looking too organized to be a clutter-slob like ours.

How awesome having your own kitchen - I'm going to have to get HM onto this - it's about time she found herself another kitchen so there'd be more room in the kitchen for my food!!

Sherman, I think you are a show-off.

Ok, so I have a kennel-flat and a small finca but like there is no kitchen in the kennel flat, and my finca kitchen is smaller than your owndog kitchen.

Anyway, you better be nice to Penny, because I still love her very much. She is beautiful.

I hope you all have a HNY.

OK Jen, the more I thought about this the more I love the idea! I don't have a second kitchen (damn it) but I think when I'm working on this kitchen renovation I'm definitely making a dog area. When I look around mine their stuff is everywhere - meds, treats, food, books, etc. Now you've motivated me! :)

Wow! You're very own kitchen? That is so great! I wish I had my own kitchen! I'd want one with a working oven though because of that wonderful cheese cookie recipe your Mom posted on DWB. If I had my own oven I would demand those yummy cookies be baked every day in my oven!
You guys are so lucky!!

Happy New Year! We really loved your resolutions. One of ours is to meet new blog friends. Thanks for helping us make good on it!

PS- Any dog with Guinness in the fridge is a lucky dog, indeed.

Ah Sherm, Please be nice to Penny. She's my favourite. I mean, my favourite of the girl dogs at your house. Obviously, you're my favourite boy dog.

My mom is super jealous of your second kitchen. She is also wondering what brand of mushy foodables you guys get. I love my mushy foodables, but it is special from the vet and so expensive that she could buy a car for what she's paying to feed me this stuff. But she figures that once I'm back to my regular diet, I might still be wanting the mush.

Ohmydog I'm so jealous of your kitchen which is so awesome. My ma ape says she wishes she had one of those, too so I could keep my meatables out of her vegetables.

I think you're totally nice already Sherman so those girls should not complain!

wally.

ps. The melatonin helped me sleep through the fireworks during NYE which was pretty awesome! Still not sleeping all night but my ma ape is gradually increasing my dose and we'll see!

I talked to my Mom about getting my own kitchen last night and she said no way cuz she can barely keep the one we have clean. I just wanted to tell you guys again how jealous I am. I also noticed our house only has 1 bathroom. I bet that's because she doesn't want to clean 2 of those either. Here I thought we lived in a tiny house because that's what my parents coudl afford at the time they bought it, now I'm thinking my mom is just to lazy to clean a bigger one.
